You’ve been given the opportunity to send one message to one person you wouldn’t normally have access to (for example: the President. Kim Kardashian. A coffee grower in Ethiopia). Who’s the person you choose, and what’s the message?
I am reminded of the movie “I am Kalam“, where the little kid around whom the whole movie revolves, writes the letter to his idol Dr. A. P. J. Kalam and tries to deliver it at the President’s residence in Delhi. Great and inspiring movie.
The daily prompt is really confusing. Should the person be alive or someone from past like hundreds of years ago will do too? If that is so, I would like to personally meet Shivaji Maharaj, the great Maratha ruler around 4-5 centuries back. He was a just and competent ruler who fought for the freedom of Marathi people from Mughal empire.
There is no particular message; I would just watch him and try to absorb at least a part of his qualities. There is a lot to learn from him. Nowadays people just use his name for bossing around others, not really understanding what he stood for. He had no patience for people who abused women or treated them less; there are examples of him administering harsh justice for rapists. On other hand, in the age of fourteen, almost a teenager, he gathered some forces and started guerilla warfare against the Mughals. Such was his bravery. He established a Marathi throne in Deccan region which earned the respect of rulers sitting in Delhi who ruled a major part of India. He instilled such loyalty among his people, that there are separate stories worth recounting of many of them, who sacrificed themselves for defending there idea of freedom.
I guess he would be very angry if he saw the condition of our society today. Corrupted, intolerant, abusers and rapists and proudly showing off that fact.
Didn’t think this post would turn out serious when I started writing it. Guess when your mood is dark, it reflects.
