So many conditions in a single prompt 😉 . Effectively, as per the dp, we can either travel to future or past and stay there permanently. Then the daily prompt should have also clarified whether our age remains the same or gets adjusted to the time we travel. What is the use of travelling to a happy time in past and seeing my younger self already there, enjoying and having the best time of her life 🙂 . I think same logic applies to the future. If our age doesn’t adjust to the time, we will effectively be an outsider in our own family and neighbourhood.
But wait a minute. The dp never said we have to travel to our own past or future. So I can travel hundreds of years back in the historical period when there were kings and all. 😀 Interesting. I remember a character named Andre, from Michael Crichton’s book “Time Machine”. He is fascinated by a certain historical period of knights in shining armour and gladiators and so on. He practiced their art of fighting too. But actually when he travels to the past in that same period, it is much more forceful. It is the difference between a soldier in training and a soldier experiencing war on field.
So, coming back to today’s subject, if it is a one way travel, I would probably like to travel to a less technological era. Technology has brought us together virtually, but the human presence around us has substantially reduced. We are originally social beings, but seems evolving more like solitary species in this time. There will definitely be difference between what I expect and the actual situation, but saying that, I will be more happier in such a place. 🙂
