Found and Lost

One after the other

they fall relentlessly, silently

till the raw pain inside

is washed away, changed

into a dull sort of ache

that is harder to let go

and still harder to believe

there is a surreal unreality to it all

the suddenness of the break

like a blow to the gut

that leaves me breathless

and fighting for air

I wonder sometimes

does the ache ever go

or will it get lodged in my psyche

and shape my future

to face the daily wars and loneliness

and still build the courage to hope

does it ever go away, I wonder

or will I be fighting to be whole again

He gave me dreams..

a forgotten thing for me..

as the days passed mechanically..

one after another, no moment free..

And as I was consumed by him..

an addiction that left me always wanting..

He ripped away the castles of dreams

tumbling away the pieces into air

His silence was so eloquent..

it roared around in my head..

leaving me blind with pain..

and I resolved never to dream again..

100 Days of Laughter Challenge – Day 15

For those new to this challenge, do check the first post to get a better idea 🙂

I was watching a movie “Nobody’s fool” today. One of the old movies they show on MGM, without subs. Generally I avoid that channel, coz its difficult to make out all the dialogues, but some of those movies are great. So this movie is about a girl. maybe 20-22 years old, dumped by a guy, having a baby by him whom she gives away for adoption. I didn’t watch the whole movie, rather the latter part where she is coping up from both the tragedies. So, she is working for some upcoming drama or some solo performance where she meets a guy. They start meeting and going together. He falls in love with her, confesses and asks her to come with her to Los Angeles. She is in dual mind about her decision because of being dumped earlier. So irritated by the indecision (I’m skipping a lot of things here), he tells her that he will be leaving tomorrow after the performance and if she wants to come she can come at some specified time. She decides at the last moment while working as a bartender in a bar, leaves the job, runs home packs few clothes in a trunk and runs to the guy’s apartment, only to find it empty. As she is frantically looking at his shirt (on which he has written his number 😀 ) in the dim light coming from the window, she sees him downstairs getting ready to drive his car. So she picks up her luggage, goes outside shouting for him to stop but he is not able to hear. So while climbing down the stairs she throws her trunk on his car and all the luggage comes flying out. Hez out, now smiling as he sees her and says I thought u weren’t coming…To which she answers frantically collecting her clothes and all….yes I’m coming, see I’m all packed…lets go … He sees around…picks up a pair of slippers saying  you don’t want these…? …what about this nightie …what about this pair socks…I don’t suppose you want this hat too 😀 😀 smiling at her seeing that she is leaving half her clothes in the hurry to leave with him 😀 . The scene is so damn cute 🙂 (and the guy is …… 😉 )

Do see the movie if you catch it on MGM any time… 🙂 Have a good day..

100 Days of Laughter Challenge – Day 14

For those new to this challenge, do check the first post to get a better idea 🙂

I am skipping one day in between. Don’t really remember two days back incidences very clearly. Anyways, yesterday we were shifting our office to a new location (thankfully nearer to home than before 🙂 ). Those of us who had cars were carrying some stuff home and then decided to bring it to office on Monday. So we decided who will carry what and then load it car by car. Mine was the first. Instead of taking the stuff to the car, a younger colleague suggested we bring it to the entrance of the building. load our stuff and then take the car away. Now, it is a tricky way to move car and there were some small trucks standing in between. So I cheekily asked him to drive my car to the entrance instead the taking the effort myself 😉 . So we went, asked the trucks to make way for us and he was slowly maneuvering the car. And I was doing passenger seat driving 😀 .

Go slow, go slow….look behinnnnd, you’ll dash that kid….reverse the car a bit, it will scratch against that bike 😀 .

The poor guy was so exasperated 😀 we both started laughing as he asked me to shut up and let him drive as per his own judgement 😀

Unmet Target

This is my first attempt in writing the Three Word Wednesday challenge. For 3WW Week No. 403, the words are hopeful, distrust and tolerant. To read other entries, please go here.

She looked at him. The distrust in her eyes evident loudly in her voice, as she asked what was the product about.

He explained his product again. As a salesman, he was used to see this expression on people’s face.

Being tolerant is not a common virtue, I guess, he thought, remembering the many times the door had been slammed on his face.

So when she agreed to at least listen to him, he was a bit hopeful of selling this last item and finally meeting the target within deadline.

So he talked, mechanically, like an automatic robot, which was a mistake he realized, as soon as he looked up from his item and saw the glazed look on her face induced by his monotone. And the next moment, a door was slammed on his face.

Emotional Undercurrents

A word here
An expression there
says be beware
tension is in the air

A joke here
A laugh there
diffuses the atmosphere
kicking stress in the rear

A silence here
A long stare
upping temperatures
anger rising its ugly head

A smile here
A small praise there
an appreciative nod
making us go an extra mile ahead
