Five Sentence Fiction – Trust

Five Sentence Fiction by Lillie McFerrin is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist in a five sentence fictional story. This week’s word: TRUST

He looked down the towering edifice, head swirling with dizziness at the vast empty space between him and the ground. The only thing stopping him to close the distance was his hands that held the railing. The crowd was there below, he knew, though he could see only dots. The only sound he could hear was his own heart thudding out of his chest. Now if he could only trust himself, to climb down the building and set the world record, he would have roundly beat that acrophobia forever.

PS: This is my first attempt at the five sentence fiction.
