Five Sentence Fiction – Abandon

Five Sentence Fiction by Lillie McFerrin is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist in a five sentence fictional story. This week’s word: ABANDON

She told him that it was over between them and never to contact her again, avoiding any kind of eye contact, turning her back to him, lest he see her tear-filled eyes.

There was no hint of tremor in her voice as she made a razor clean cut to their relationship, unwilling to see the hurt in those eyes, waiting for him to storm out of her life forever.

But instead she felt him close behind, his strong callused hands forcibly turning her to face him as he ordered her to look at him.

Daring to take a look at him, she found his eyes filled with unexpected tenderness as he told her that he will be there always and they are going to overcome any issue together.

And the dam in her eyes finally broke as she abandoned her doubts and fell in love with him all over again.
