When I received my first award – Premio Dardos by Jithin 🙂 , I had been beyond excited. For someone to appreciate my amateur efforts at writing was a very joyous and humbling moment. From then, there have been a shower of awards from my blogger mates time n again. I have tried my best to respond. But lately I have not been very inclined and I think it is not very fair on those who nominate me. So just mentioning some recent nominations whom I’ve been unable to respond…

I might have forgot to mention somebody, apologies for that. Thank you all three of you and everyone else who bothers to read, like and comment on my posts. Your inputs, encouragement and appreciation are highly needed.

However, I am declaring this blog as a No Award Zone 😉 from today. Not because I don’t appreciate them but I am not able to do justice to each one of you nominating me. The interaction we have here is reward enough. 🙂

Have a happy weekend!!

This post is dedicated to my friends and blogger mates who thought of nominating me for awards 🙂 . I won’t be following any rules, but couldn’t let it pass without any acknowledgement. Awards are always welcome and encouraging. Thank you all of you for the support, not only through these awards, but through your comments and interaction. Blogging has taken life to a different level and am damn glad about it.

  1.  Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award by Michele @ Step Times Two – Thank you Michele. Though we haven’t interacted much, I like your poetry and read it whenever I can 🙂
  2. Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Sugar @ Sugar-coating since ’91 – Thank you for the special attention my anonymous friend Sugar 😛 …hope this new year finds you well.
  3. Premio Dardos Award by Ruth @ I-read – Another new friend at WP. Thank you for your words Ruth 🙂
  4. Versatile Blogger Award by Moses @ Fiction Limbo whom I’ve known thanks to Jithin and his flash fiction chains.
  5. Premio Dardos and The very (not so) inspiring Award 😉 by my good friend Anoop @ Tranquil yet Alive whose rants about car stuff are a total bouncer to me 😉 . But he writes good fiction. Thanks Anoop 🙂
  6. Versatile Blogger Award again by a recent friend Shashank @ 4yearoldadult – don’t be fooled by his blog name..he writes good poetry as I understood from our recent rhyme chat 😉

The end finally!! I’ve been procrastinating this post for almost a month now. Probably coz lots of changes to be faced soon, and though change is good and nourishing most of the time, the partings can be painful. But enough diversions. Thank you once again. Keep writing and inspiring 🙂

Shower of Awards – 2

I am just smiling, without knowing how to put my emotions into words 🙂 . In the space of ten days, three self pat on the back 😉 . Hardi from 50 Shades of Reality (Sisterhood of the world), Yayo from Wandering Sufi (Liebster) and Sammy from To kill a miming bird (Very Inspiring Blogger) have nominated me for these awards. The first two were a complete surprise because I have not had interacted very much with these bloggers. Regardless of that, thank you for these nominations and for bothering to read my blog. Sammy, hugs to you for those warm words 🙂 . Now I’ll be mixing and combining the rules, else the post will be very long, and who wants to read an awards post that big 😀 . So, please don’t mind.

Seven things about myself:

  • I am a chocolate lover in any form 🙂 .
  • I write irrespective of the resistance and never going to stop (unless in case of writer’s block 😉 )
  • My thoughts tend towards pessimism first and I extract myself from it every time, sometimes early sometimes late
  • I don’t like fights except with my close ones. It is a waste of time with others.
  • I like when people confide their secrets with me or come to me with their problems.
  • I get angry with myself, when I give a conditioned response in a situation that doesn’t require it.
  • I like rings…all sorts..they are never too much in my collection 🙂

I’m going to answer five questions each asked by Hardi and Yayo 🙂

  1. Which would you rather be happy or joyful? Why? (Yayo) – I would be joyful because it is the culmination of happiness. I would rather experience a peak which will be my reservoir of energy in bad days.
  2. Is there any life change that has changed you for the better or the worse? If yes, then which is it? ? (Hardi) – Blogging, of course!! And definitely changed for the better. I used to feel stifled without a source to express myself, which has completely vanished since I started blogging.
  3. Have you ever wondered what the meaning of life is? (Yayo) – Yes, not much though and I am yet to find the meaning of my life.
  4. Would you rather have a few friends or a handful? why? (Hardi) – Few friends who understand me and my quirks and a handful while going on a trip 😀
  5. Given the wherewithal, where in the world will you live? (Yayo) – Any place surrounded by mountains with a lake in between 🙂
  6. What is the one thing that keeps you going, no matter what? (Hardi) – To remain independent and to not let down those who have believed in me.
  7. How do you view your world? (Yayo) – My world is a hilly area with twists, cross roads, occasionally scattered with beautiful places worth revisiting.
  8. Has blogging changed your life? How? (Hardi) – I think the 2. answered it.
  9. What makes you come alive? (Yayo) – When my favourite people come together, we have a gala time….when I discover a new awesome song and keep listening to it again n again…..when sprung with a surprise (good one) 😀 …and when I surprise somebody 😀
  10. Is there any country or place you want to visit badly? Also why? (Hardi) – Yes, for a long time now I’ve wanted to visit Brazil to roam around in the Amazon rainforest.

Phew…that took a lot of time. Now my questions. Be ready 😀 :

  1. Name a moment till now which has brought on tears of sadness or gratitude or happiness etc.
  2. Have you felt an incomplete feeling as to what you are doing is not enough? If yes, what did you do?
  3. Have you ever had a chance to rectify a wrong decision on your part? If yes, what?
  4. Have you ever done a crazy thing while in public? If yes, what and what was other people’s reaction?
  5. Have you ever been at cross roads in life where choosing any option over other was equally painful? If yes, what did you do?

Many of you nominated here deserve all the three awards, but that somehow doesn’t make sense to me. I hope you all like the surprise 🙂 . The post has still become too long.

Acknowledgements and Ramblings

🙂 Hello friends…meeting after a long time. As I had given in some earlier post, it is festive season in India 🙂 and I was making the most of it. But before I go into that, lots of love and hugs to these friends of mine who nominated me for the “One Lovely Blog Award” in the last ten days. I have already posted my acceptance for this award earlier, so will not be following the rules. However, just wanted to acknowledge and appreciate my fellow bloggers (and also friends) for their nomination and express my feelings on this 🙂

Shooting Star –

Sweety –

Aruna –

Thank you guys !! I never imagined when I started this blog, which also marks the starting of my poetry, more or less, that it would receive such a great response. It is so damn encouraging! Being new to blogging, I also didn’t expect to find so many friends here from across the world. But here I am and damn happy about it. So thank you again to my three friends above and all those who bother to read, like, comment and follow the blog of a novice.

These were the acknowledgements. Now, the rambling part. For the last ten days, I was in an altogether different world than the normal life that goes on. It was and always is a drastic change in the culture and the style of living when I visit my in-laws. Not that I’m complaining :). It is fascinating in its own way and has allowed me to gain a big family which I always wanted. The hustle and bustle of house filled with people in a festival, the cooking and making preparations for pooja, the din of voices of everyone talking at the same time, the fun and laughter and pulling each other’s legs….I love it all 🙂 . It has given me a sense of belonging, even though technically these people are not connected to me by blood. It takes me back to my childhood when at our grandparents’ house, we cousins, our moms (three sisters) used to have a blast every summer. Though not an exact replica, this comes damn close. Their were and still are (huge) adjustments on both sides, but I can feel that I have been accepted as their “own” and I cherish this feeling very much.

So enough with my ramblings 🙂 . Hope you were not bored by it.

It is good to be back here 🙂 . Happy Blogging !!

One Lovely Blog…Yet another award :)

Yet another encouragement to my attempts as a writer. Sometimes I feel as if I’m still too young in writing to get as many awards :). The encouragement is most welcome though 🙂 . Faith, here, has nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Another friend I will get to know 🙂 . Thank you so much Faith, for this award as well as reading my poems and for the lovely compliment she gave me in her post. It will be highly treasured.

The One Lovely Blog Award nominations are chosen by fellow bloggers for those newer and up-and-coming bloggers. The goal is to help give recognition and also to help the new blogger to reach more viewers. It also recognizes blogs that are considered to be “lovely” by the fellow bloggers who choose them. This award recognizes bloggers who share their story or thoughts in a beautiful manner to connect with viewers and followers.

Now the rules of this award:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you for the award. (Done, though I don’t think their is any need to include this in the guideline, off course we will thank that person 🙂 )
  2. Add the One Lovely Blog logo to your post. (Done)
  3. Share 7 facts/or things about yourself
  4. Nominate 15 bloggers you admire and inform the nominees by commenting on their blog.

7 facts / truths about myself:

  1. Once I wanted to join the army and serve my country, but after watching the movie The Americanization of Emily, my views on war and those who fight wars have altered a bit.
  2. I dislike people who try to take advantage of other’s weaknesses.
  3. I am generally fair about mistakes, even on my part.
  4. I become angry easily and forgive easily too.
  5. I have been very very fortunate to have had a chance to fall in love and be loved in return.
  6. I am dreadfully forgetful.
  7. I don’t worship any particular God, but do believe in a higher power.

Now the nominations 🙂 :

That’s all I could manage for now. Will keep on adding as I find more amazing people 🙂 .

Happy Blogging!!!

Liebster award square…

images (1)

Trying to infuse some lighthappygoodness in this day after my last post. So, one of my early friends on WP, the great Shooting Star nominated me this award back after I first nominated him (rolling my eyes…)…. probably should’ve added a rule that you can’t nominate the same person who nominated you 😛 that’s cheating….you gotta find new budding bloggers to nominate.

But that doesn’t change the fact that this person thought me good enough to nominate this award 🙂 and that is making me a bit mushy inside…thank you. It lifted me up a bit after I re-thought about it today…if you can understand what I’m blabbering.

Now the answers to his questions:

What drives you to write the current blog?

It is mainly to put the millions of thoughts churning in the mind, to give some rough shape to it and secondly to meet new people and make friends.

If you were given all the time to write a fiction novel, what would be the subject of the book?

It would be something in the genre of humour sprinkled in fantasy probably, because I love to read fantasies. The Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud is one of my favourites.

Which original post of yours(link it) do you want to develop into a movie?

I don’t think any of my posts are good enough or big enough for a movie yet. But probably some funny movie where everyday gadgets come alive and cause havoc 🙂 would be good…

What is your favourite movie?

One of my favourite movie is Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. Awesome movie, great songs (most of them, though Pehla Nasha is my favourite). Never tire of watching it.

Which football club you support, if you follow football. If you don’t who is your favourite sporting icon? Please share how you fell in love with your football team or the sporting icon as the case may be!

This is a difficult one. I used to follow cricket during the times of Sachin, Jadeja (the spot fixing one), Srinath, Kumble and all. But recently have felt that there are too many matches going on everytime and the excitement is lost. I used to play Kabaddi when in school years, still like that game. So watched few matches of Pro Kabaddi League. Thats it for me. No favourite icons as of yet.

I am not nominating new people again. Whomsoever nominated in the last one are continued here and so are the questions. Thank you again Shooting Star !!

Shower of Awards – Liebster Award :)

Thank you Soul !!! I am very much honored by your nomination. Soul is my new friend on blogosphere, so I was pleasantly surprised by this award 🙂 . Thanks again. Through our friend Internet, I came to know that this award was created to recognize and/or discover new bloggers and welcome them to the blogosphere.

The rules of this award are as follows:

  1. Link and thank the person who nominated you
  2. Answer the questions they asked you
  3. Pick eleven awesome bloggers to nominate ( preferably those with less than or around 200 followers)
  4. Ask them eleven questions
  5. Let them know by commenting on one of their posts

So here I go with the eleven questions asked by Soul: What was your reaction to this award nomination? 🙂

Pleasant surprise. And I love surprises.

Why people should visit your blog?

To see if they like my writing and connect with me if they do 🙂 . Isn’t that what we are all here for. To connect with like-minded people and widen our horizons of knowledge and different issues

Share with us your most happiest moment.

When I found love.

What prompted you to become a blogger?

One of my friend introduced me to WordPress. I wrote small poems sporadically earlier. Earlier I posted my poems on FB, but it seemed later that any response would be forced since I know all those people. Here I can get much more frank feedback. And a blog seemed a perfect place to put down all kinds of thoughts churning in the mind and give them some kind of form. And lastly because I always like to make new friends.

Given an opportunity to pursue your hobby, what it would be? I would be a wildlife traveller.

What do you prefer? A loner, lost in your own dream world or a popular bee surrounded with fans.

Depends on my mood mostly. A thoughtful, serious, sad mood will seek out to be lonely but in a happy, gay mood I would like to be surrounded by people including my friends or relatives

Which has been your most successful post so far?

Successful considering the number of likes:

Successful considering how I feel about my own writing:

Which is the first thing you look for as soon as you log in to your blog?

Notifications off course 😀

Do you need prompts to motivate you? If yes, which was that?

As of now, yes. I try to write daily using these prompts.

Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?

Comparatively new to writing. So no, not experienced it yet.

Which is your favorite book and why?

So many favourites. One of my favourites is “Parva” by S. L. Bhyrappa. It is the story of Mahabharata told from an entirely different perspective, considering Pandavas as human-beings like you and me rather than sons of gods.

Hush…that was a long list of questions 😉 . Now my list of questions. I’m changing the rules a bit and reducing the no. to five.

  1. What was the thought behind the name of your blog?
  2. What was your main motive behind joining blogosphere?
  3. What are your hobbies?
  4. Describe a moment which brought unexpected tears of either happiness, sadness, gratitude etc.
  5. Describe one moment in which you felt you have achieved something in life.

Carrying on the chain forward, I nominate the following blogs for this award because they have either inspired me, brought smile on my face or introduced me to issues which I was not aware about before. I will add to this list as I keep finding new amazing people here 🙂 :

Adding one more, don’t know how I missed her out earlier.

Happy Blogging friends 🙂
